Yes as the Platinum Sword is the strongest sword in Act 1, the Platinum Powersword is the strongest greatsword in Act 1 (by a massive margin at this point in the game, and for another 20~35 more hours well into Act 2. Roland is the only hero in the Dragon Quest series who can't use magic, which kind of makes him the weakest by default.
